Joy Kogawa House
Joy Kogawa wrote about her childhood home in Obasan, a book that’s considered one of the 100 most important Canadian books ever written. The modest bungalow on West 64th Street in Vancouver was saved from demolition by a group of writers and heritage die-hards who believe that the social history of a house is every bit as important as its architectural merit.
